What is a Medical Marijuana Card? 

A Medical Marijuana Card in Massachusetts is a government-issued ID card which states that the registrant may purchase medical marijuana from licensed medical marijuana dispensaries. 

How do I get a Medical Marijuana Card? 

The Cannabis Control Commission is now allowing new medical marijuana patients to be certified at home by a registered healthcare professional through electronic/telehealth consultation (i.e. telephone or web). Our friends at the Massachusetts Patient Advocacy Alliance have put together a handy list of certifying health care professional who can certify you for medical purchases here. 

Here are some of the benefits of obtaining your medical marijuana card: 

1. 1. No tax! Medical marijuana is not taxed in Massachusetts. By comparison, adult use recreational marijuana is taxed at 20%. When you shop in an adult use (recreational) dispensary, a product that costs $50 will end up costing a total or $60 with tax. In our medical dispensaries, a product that costs $50 is going to cost you $50.

      Having your medical card is kind of like getting a 20% discount on products!

      Also, an annual office visit with a practitioner to obtain a medical marijuana recommendation costs about $100. If you purchase more than $500 of marijuana product a year, you will realize a savings. 

2. 2. Higher-dosed products are available in our medical dispensaries. 
      Our medical dispensaries carry products ranging from <5mg of THC per serving to >100mg of THC per serving.

      By comparison, marijuana products sold to recreational cannabis customers at Massachusetts dispensaries cannot exceed 5 mgs of THC per serving.  

3. 3. You can take advantage of sales & discounts at our Medical Dispensaries.

4. 4. Medical patients rarely have to wait in line at Triple M.
